Lesley Martin began her nursing career in 1991 as a medical-surgical student nurse and became a NICU RN in 1992 after graduating from San Joaquin Delta College. She progressed to roles including charge nurse, transport nurse, and preceptor. Her practice expanded to include certifications such as infant massage therapy, intubation, PICC line, CPR, NRP, and Stable instructor. She also served as assistant department manager and hospital supervisor before retiring to start her own business as an infant developmental specialist for Valley Mountain Regional Center in California. Lesley earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing education from the University of Phoenix and worked at St. Joseph's NICU for 19 years before transferring to labor and delivery in 2022. She is passionate about teaching and has held faculty positions at San Joaquin Delta College, Xavier School of Nursing, California State University Stanislaus, and the University of the Pacific master’s nursing program. Her dedication to nursing education has been the cornerstone of her career.
